Boost your WooCommerce store visibility in AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google Gemini with extended JSON-LD schema and an automated /llms.txt catalog endpoint.

== Description ==

Is your WooCommerce store ready for **Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)**? Standard Search Engine Optimization (SEO) alone is no longer enough to keep your e-commerce store competitive. Today, millions of shoppers use AI search assistants—such as ChatGPT Search, Perplexity AI, Claude, and Google Gemini—to research products, compare prices, and make purchase decisions.

**AI Schema & GEO for WooCommerce** bridges the gap between your WooCommerce store and modern AI engines. It injects extended, LLM-friendly JSON-LD structured data on single product pages and automatically generates an **`/llms.txt`** plain-text endpoint that AI web scrapers use to index store inventory efficiently. By providing highly structured, structured JSON-LD markup and machine-readable feeds, your products become effortlessly discoverable, readable, and recommended by AI models.

= One product entity, made complete =

WooCommerce prints a Product JSON-LD entity on every product page. Many plugins print a second one on top of it, which leaves search engines and AI assistants with two conflicting descriptions of the same product. This plugin extends the entity WooCommerce already builds: it adds the category path, the brand, the gallery images, the visible attributes and the product tags to the same node, and leaves everything an SEO plugin already set untouched.

* Category path ("Clothing > Jackets") for classification
* Brand from the WooCommerce Brands taxonomy
* Gallery images alongside the main image
* Visible attributes (material, size, color…) as additional properties
* Product tags as keywords
* A fallback that builds WooCommerce's own Product schema on themes whose product template never lets WooCommerce build it
* An OnlineStore entity on the front page with the store name, URL, logo, currency and product search

= /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt =

llms.txt is the plain-text format AI assistants look for at the root of a site. The plugin serves it live from your catalog:

* Title and summary, both editable
* A category section with product counts
* One line per product: name, link, price, availability and a description of the length you choose
* llms-full.txt with the full descriptions, SKUs and every variation with its own price and stock
* Choose how many products to list and in which order (newest, best sellers, price, alphabetical)
* Hide individual products with one checkbox on the product edit screen
* Respects catalog visibility and WooCommerce's "hide out of stock items" setting
* Cached, and rebuilt whenever a product, price, stock level or category changes
* Works with a plain permalink structure through a query-string URL, and tells you when another plugin has written a physical llms.txt file that would take precedence

= Open Graph tags =

Product Open Graph tags (title, description, image, price, currency, availability) for social networks, messengers and AI assistants that unfurl shared links. In the default "Automatic" mode the plugin stays quiet when Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, Slim SEO, The SEO Framework or Squirrly SEO already prints them.

= Developer friendly =

### Why Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Matters

AI search bots do not read web pages like human visitors. They rely on clean, structured JSON-LD data and plain-text summary endpoints (`llms.txt`) to extract product availability, pricing, and descriptions accurately. Without GEO-optimized schema, AI engines are more likely to hallucinate product details or omit your store from purchasing recommendations.

### Conclusion

Whether you are running a boutique shop or a high-volume enterprise store, **AI Schema & GEO for WooCommerce** ensures your catalog is primed for the next generation of search. Equip your WooCommerce store with structured schema today and secure your spot in AI-generated search results.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin to `/wp-content/plugins/` or install it via the Plugins screen.
2. Activate it. WooCommerce must be installed and active.
3. Open the new "AI Schema & GEO" admin menu. The defaults already enrich the product schema, publish the feeds and print Open Graph tags; adjust them per tab.
4. Visit `yourstore.com/llms.txt` to see the feed.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= What is llms.txt? =

A plain-text file at the root of a site, written in a simple Markdown convention, that tells AI assistants what the site offers and where its key pages are. The plugin generates it from your live catalog, and a fuller llms-full.txt with every variation.

= How does the /llms.txt feed work? =

Once activated, visiting `yourdomain.com/llms.txt` displays a clean, text-formatted digest of your catalog. AI scrapers specifically look for this standardized file to quickly index store offerings without parsing heavy HTML structure.

= What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)? =

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the process of optimizing website content and underlying code so that Artificial Intelligence engines (like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini) can easily discover, analyze, and cite your brand or products in their generated responses.

= How do I test if my JSON-LD schema is working? =

You can test any product page URL using Google's official [Rich Results Test](https://search.google.com/test/rich-results) tool or Schema.org's Validator.

= Does the plugin print its own Product schema? =

No. WooCommerce already prints one Product entity per product page. The plugin adds properties to that entity through WooCommerce's own filters, so the page keeps a single Product with a single identifier. The only time the plugin builds a Product entity itself is when a theme's product template never lets WooCommerce build one, and even then it uses WooCommerce's generator.

= Will it conflict with Yoast SEO, Rank Math or another SEO plugin? =

No. Schema properties are only added when nothing else set them. Open Graph tags are printed in "Automatic" mode only when no SEO plugin prints its own; you can also force them on or off.

= My SEO plugin already creates an llms.txt file. Which one wins? =

A physical llms.txt file in the site root is served by the web server before WordPress runs, so it takes precedence over this plugin's feed. The llms.txt tab shows a warning when such a file exists. Remove it, or switch off the other plugin's file, to serve the catalog feed from here.

= Does blocking AI crawlers remove my store from ChatGPT or Perplexity? =

Blocking the training crawlers does not: they only collect pages for model training. Blocking the search and answer crawlers does remove the store from AI search results and answers, which is why the plugin keeps the two groups apart and warns you on the second one.

= Will this plugin slow down my site? =

No. The plugin is lightweight, HPOS-compatible, and uses native WordPress database caching. Schema data is output dynamically during page load with virtually zero impact on page speed or database queries.

= How fresh is the feed? =

The feed is cached and rebuilt whenever a product, price, stock level or category changes, and at most every 12 hours otherwise (configurable, or off). A "Regenerate feeds now" button clears the cache.

= Does it work with block themes? =

Yes. WooCommerce builds its product schema on block themes too; where a theme prevents that, the fallback builds it. The feeds and robots.txt directives do not depend on the theme.

= Does the plugin send data anywhere or track visitors? =

No. It makes no requests to external services, stores no personal data, and only writes its settings and the per-product "Hide from llms.txt" flags. See the External services section.

= How do I translate the plugin? =

It is translation-ready with the text domain `ai-schema-geo-for-woocommerce`. Translations can be contributed on translate.wordpress.org once the plugin is listed; the feed texts (title, summary, store description) are also exposed to WPML and Polylang.

= Does the Pro version require replacing the free version? =

No. The Pro version acts as an enhancement plugin that seamlessly extends the core free plugin with additional settings, metaboxes, and advanced schema capabilities.

= Is this plugin compatible with WooCommerce HPOS? =

Yes! The plugin explicitly declares compatibility with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and works seamlessly with WooCommerce block templates.

== External services ==

The plugin makes no automatic requests to any external service: no tracking, no update pings, no remotely loaded assets, and nothing leaves the site when a page, a feed or robots.txt is served.

The only third-party destinations it links to are opened by the administrator on purpose, from the plugin's own settings screen, and receive nothing but the click:

* **Google Rich Results Test** and **Schema Markup Validator** — testing tools the Schema tab links to so you can paste a product URL and check the markup. Google: [terms of service](https://policies.google.com/terms), [privacy policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy). Schema.org validator: [terms of service](https://schema.org/docs/terms.html).
