Announcement Bar & Countdown – Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Announcement Bar & Countdown app (the “App”) for Wix sites, made by Zuno (“we”, “us”), uses, how it is stored, secured and shared, and what choices you have. It applies to Wix site owners who install the App (“you”) and to the visitors of their sites (“visitors”). Wix’s own services are covered by the Wix Privacy Policy.

1. Information the App uses

From Wix, about your site

Wix gives the App information about your site and its installation: the site ID, the App’s instance ID, your plan and billing status for the App (Free or Pro, billing cycle, end date and auto-renewal), your site’s address and languages, and your site’s time zone. The App uses this only to run its features, for example to unlock Pro features or to show times in your site’s time zone. Inside your bar’s settings on Wix, the App stores only your site ID and the times of its plan checks. Wix may include your email address in the data it shares with the App; the App doesn’t use, store or log it. We never sell any of this information.

Bar settings you enter

The messages, links, colors, dates, coupon codes and page rules you enter are saved on Wix as part of your site, and they are placed in your published pages’ code so the bar can show them. Anyone can see them in the page code, including coupon codes and scheduled messages before they appear. Please don’t put private information in your bar.

Your site’s visitors

The App doesn’t collect or store visitors’ names, email addresses, payment details or other personal data, and it doesn’t track them. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no ads. On sites with a cookie banner, Wix runs the bar only for visitors who allow functional cookies (on sites without a banner, Wix treats them as allowed). When the bar runs, it saves a few small entries in the visitor’s browser storage: that the bar was closed and for how many days; which rotating message was shown and whether rotation was paused (for that browser tab only); and when the browser may next check the site’s plan. Without consent, it saves nothing.

The plan check

On some page views of sites that use Pro features, the visitor’s browser sends a short-lived Wix access token to the App’s backend, which runs on Wix’s hosting, so the App can confirm the site’s plan. The App doesn’t read, store or log the visitor’s identity from that token, or the visitor’s IP address. Wix’s handling of these requests is covered by the Wix Privacy Policy.

Your own browser

The App’s dashboard page saves two small entries in your browser’s storage: the time you clicked an Upgrade button (used for 30 minutes, so the page can notice your upgrade) and the last time a dashboard tab saw the Pro plan.

Support and installation details

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you. Wix also shows us basic installation details in our app dashboard, such as the site owner’s email address, the site address, business name, location and plan. We use them only to support you and improve the App, and we send marketing emails only to users who have opted in.

2. How information is stored and secured

Your bar’s settings are stored by Wix as part of your site. The App’s backend runs on Wix’s hosting and keeps no database of its own. Technical logs on Wix’s hosting may contain the site ID or the App’s instance ID and short error messages, with access tokens and email addresses removed; they contain no visitor data. We protect access to our accounts and code, and only we can access the App’s systems.

3. How information is shared

We don’t sell or rent any information. The App runs entirely on Wix’s platform: Wix hosts the App and processes all payments. We share information only with Wix, as needed to run the App, or when the law requires it.

4. How long information is kept

  • Bar settings: until you change them or remove the App.
  • The plan-check record in your settings: replaced at the next plan check or save, and no longer used after at most 45 days.
  • A closed bar in a visitor’s browser: for the number of days you choose (0 to 365, default 7), then removed on a later visit.
  • The next plan-check time in a visitor’s browser: 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Tab-only entries: until the browser tab is closed.
  • Any entry in a browser: deleted when the visitor withdraws consent or clears the browser’s storage.
  • Support emails: as long as needed to help you.

5. Your rights and choices

Visitors can withdraw consent at any time through the site’s cookie banner, and can remove the App’s entries by clearing their browser’s storage. Site owners can change or delete the bar’s settings in the App, or remove the App from their site. You can ask us to see, correct or delete information we hold about you by emailing support@wpdevart.com. We aim to answer within a week, and always within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.

6. Children

The App is meant for site owners and is not directed to children.

7. Security incidents

If we learn of a security incident that affects your information, we will inform Wix and the affected users within 24 hours.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new date. For important changes, we will also tell users by email where we have their address, or on the App’s App Market page.
